Walks programme

The number of walks we have each month depends on the number of walk leaders available. We aim to walk every Sunday morning and on one weekday morning each week. During the summer months, there are also occasional walks on weekday evenings.

You can find the April 2026 walks here.

The walks are primarily intended for our members but prospective members are very welcome to join us on a few walks to try us out before making a decision to become a member (only £5 a year).

Postcodes are the closest available to the given Map References. The what3words reference pinpoints the start point and is particularly useful in rural areas, where there may be no nearby buildings with postal addresses. To use what3words, please download the free app from Google Play or the App Store. When you enter the three words given for a walk location, you can then get directions, using the satnav app of your choice.

All walks, except evening walks, include a short break, so please bring refreshments of your choice.

GENERAL GUIDELINES
Although the group’s walks leaders take care with the planning and execution of their walks, anyone taking part in our walks does so at their own risk. Please see our Risk Assessment.

Please stay behind the walk leader and in front of the back marker. If you need to break away from the group or feel ill, please tell the back marker.

Walkers are advised to wear appropriate footwear (walking boots, sturdy trainers or wellingtons) and to bring water and their own basic first aid equipment for every walk, together with suntan lotion etc.

Leaders must be allowed to follow their planned route and walkers should only intervene if help is requested.

QUERIES AND CANCELLATIONS
If you have any queries regarding a walk please contact the walk leader beforehand. Non-members should contact

If the weather is bad, please check that the walk will go ahead. If a walk is cancelled, we will try to update Facebook and our website but this cannot be guaranteed.

DOGS ON WALKS
Unless otherwise stated, dogs on SHORT leads are welcome on walks. Please check the details of each individual walk as to whether dogs are allowed on that walk.

Please keep dogs on short leads at all times, as long leads can cause a hazard for other walkers. If a dog is badly behaved, the owner will be asked to leave the walk, and the dog will not be allowed in future. Many walks include stiles, which may not be accessible by large dogs.

The leader may ask members with dogs to separate from the group when walking through fields
with livestock.
